Hey... I've probably spent around ten hours on this now between yesterday and today. At least a couple of those were spent re-doing stuff that I did wrong, without elegance, and coping with "It's not a bug, it's a feature" moments, a couple of which I still haven't figured out how to operate the feature that acts like a bug.
In any event, this is the first decent 3D model that I've done to date, and I think it came out quite well. Though it does admittedly use more polygons than it needs, it's still decent (and that doesn't effect its looks anyways.) It is of an AUG A3, one of my favorite assault rifles made by the Austrian (not Australian) company "Steyr."
Without further adieu, here are some screenshots that I took of it (As usual, you can click on the pictures to see a high-detailed version.):
I hope that you like it, I sure do.
The name of the blogpost was not derived from it being a weapon, but from the hours of modeling this having destroyed my brain. Modeling takes a TON of critical thinking, creative problem-solving skills, etc.. This model, especially with the difficulties previously mentioned that I had, was really tiring.
Thanks for viewing!
Dude, freaking amazing! You must help me when I need 3D work done for short films. It will definitely not be as heavy as this so I have great confidence that you could help me out. :)
